Field Work opened this weekend and has already been a huge success. Thank you so much to everyone involved and all those that helped with the set up. Field Work, the Pop Up Shop I co-curate with fellow textile designer Rose de Borman returns this December just in time for all your Christmas shopping. We will both be launching a whole host of new work of our own, Rose has been producing some really very special silk cushions of late and a lot of my new stuff has gone rather space travel related. Expect the usual array of beautiful and well crafted goods and unusual objects, some of which will be coming from our forthcoming trip to Mexico. The shop, located at 54 Rivington Street, London, runs from the 10th - 18th December. There is a daytime event on the 10th and an evening opening on the 15th. Put it in your diaries now.

The Attenborough Cushions

Hand dyed and screen printed on cotton, these 40x40cm cushions form a collection meant as a homage to David Attenborough and his Life on Earth programmes. Each cushion has a portrait of David on one side and the other depicts one of six different series from Life on Earth. Using 5 screens in total each cushion varies in colour making each one unique. I sold all of these at Field Work but have just re-printed another two sets. Please contact me for details.

Realising that having a portrait of David Attenborough on a cushion might not be to everyone's taste, I also printed a set of 45x45cm cushions that depict the Life of Earth series with a plain hand dyed back. Again the colour scheme for each is unique.

The Garden Prints have been made up into simple dresses and vest tops. The top comes in the Bee print, grey on yellow cotton and is lined. It also comes in the Pigeon print, in both silk and cotton, one with a burgundy print, the other dark grey on an olive/grey base. Tops are £68.

The dress is available in the Vegetable Plot print as above and the Bee print as you can see below. Both are cotton, the Bee's on a soft calico. Dresses are £135. The Garden Print fabrics are all hand screen printed by myself in London in small meterages so I only have a few of each garment. They are all one size, approximately size 12 but it depends how you want to wear them. They are all available online via my etsy shop.

New animal purses, each one featuring different animals on both sides so no two are the same in blue, green, yellow and peach combinations. Purses are £12 each. The linen geometric purses come in two sizes both lined with a thin plastic. Small is £12.50 and the larger one is £15. New Whaling coin purses, in a pale grey this time, are £6 each. All are hand dyed and screen printed. I still have some Postal Eagles, Stegosaurus, and Donkey Express purses available for £12 each.

Field Work opens this week!

Field Work finally opens this week, Tuesday 15th at 6:30pm. Rosie and I have worked really hard on this one and are really excited about all the treasure we are bringing together for the shop and the exhibition. Take at look here for more information about the artists and designers contributing to the event.

Personally, I will be showcasing all manner of things; paintings, garments, textiles. But I am most excited about finally launching some printed textile products that have been in the pipeline for quite some time now. Below are some photographs taken whilst packing up for Field Work today to act as a preview.

The Attenborough Cushions are finally here! Hand dyed and screen printed on cotton, one side features a portrait of David and the other depicts a different Life on Earth series. The range includes 'Life of Mammals', 'Life in Cold Blood', 'Life of Birds', 'Life in the Undergrowth', 'Blue Planet' (ok not strictly from the Life Series I know) and 'The Secret Life of Plants'. Each cushions involves 5 different screens and the colours vary on each cushion making each one unique. A labour of love indeed.

Printed some time ago, The Garden Fabrics have eventually been turned into garments (by my very talented friend Alison Lewis) including these cotton dresses just in time for spring, which is apparently nearly here. These garments exist in very small runs so be sure to come and see them at Field Work along with everything else.

It's only on for one week so if you are London based or nearby do try to make it. Otherwise I will be sure to put everything up here properly afterwards.

I spent last weekend on the North Norfolk coast staying in Blakeney. It is very beautiful indeed. Below are some linocuts I did some time ago now based on some maritime gravestones found in the churchyard there.
